Most water maze problems have been seen, and solved, before.
When a water maze study goes wrong, it's usually one of two things: the animals aren't doing the task, or the camera isn't seeing what the animals are doing. Start with the one that fits.
- Animal behaviourFloaters, jumpers, wall-huggers and slow learners.
- Tracking problemsLost tracks, reflections, jumpy paths and wrong distances.
Many tracking problems are fixed at calibration; see Morris water maze calibration.
